About

About Me…

I believe that with encouragement and support, our biggest struggles can lead to tremendous personal growth. It was my own journey through life’s challenges that led me to that belief, and my training in psychology confirmed that belief.

I founded Our Place To Soar because I believe in the power of the human spirit. Within each of us, lies the ability to live a life of purpose and joy, even amidst our struggles. My goal as a clinical therapist is to empower you to gain personal insight and self-reflection while you develop the skills and strategies to meet life’s challenges head on. Together we will work towards helping you find the tools to break free from “enduring” life so that you can begin to discover more “joy” in life.

My background and training…

Licensed Professional Counselor, M. Ed

Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine: Post graduate training program in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Beck Institute: Post graduate CBT training for anxiety, depression, and other mental health disorders

Behavioral Therapy Training Institute: ERP training for the treatment of OCD

Certified Elementary Teacher / Certified School Counselor

My clinical approach often includes cognitive behavioral therapy, simply because it is evidence based and considered the gold standard for treating anxiety, depression, and self-defeating thoughts.

However, I understand that we all have different needs and responses to therapy and it is often beneficial to my clients to use an eclectic approach. Some examples of additional approaches I may incorporate are DBT, ERP for OCD, ACT, Mindfulness, and elements of play therapy for children.
